Hi every one.
im thinking of doing an exhaust on my 318TI and i was wondering, with the CAT taken out will that have any effect on the error lights on the dash and will it effect the way the car idles? ( will it hunt around the rev's )

any advise on the matter would be helpful.

If you have 2 Lambda oxygen sensors on the exhaust, one before and one after the CAT then you might need to fit a Unichip Q+ on your car to compensate for removing the CAT. The two oxygen sensors determine via the ecu if your CAT is blocked or not by comparing the difference in lambda values from before and after the CAT. Your ecu might trigger the management warning light because it senses that the CAT is malfunctioning even though the cat is removed. If your car is equipped with one lambda sensor only then go ahead, de-cat it. Hope this makes sense to you.

you dont have to run uniq unless you want to retune also... you can fit cat-foolers or a mini-cat instead if you not doing a retune... this is if you have post cat sensors... the exhaust shop doing the decat should know what to do if they dont take the car some place else...
