Synergy Live 2012 Music Festival - Villiersdorp

Sooo any opinions from the guys that did go?
Saw symmat001's e28 there, parked at the VIP parking :rollsmile: love those T-stars bru! :rollsmile: Pity I didn't get to see you play :flyfun:
IMHO, this year's venue wasn't the greatest...mind you, last year was my first time and perhaps it's reasonable to say that your first time would always be your best times but now I have a 'standard' to compare upon.
Venue: Last year's Boschendal venue was great because we had grass(everywhere), relatively flat land and shorter walks between stages etc....this year for the unlucky revellers/campers we had to camp all the way at the back in the pine forests where the grounds were not even and trees and branches were everywhere (I have seen so many people trip/fell (both sober and drunk people) both in the day and night hahaha...and from the guy ropes from the tent too).
Travelling-wise was a little bit too far out of town however I did enjoy the feeling of being 'out-of-civilization' even though it's like 100km out of Cape Town.
The distance between the areas of 'action' i.e. main stages, marketplace etc. and our campsite were almost 2kms long (I may be exaggerating but it seems like eternity). However I did like that we had a dam for which to swim in this year compared to the little 'river' we had last year...which proved to be quite useful when the sun came out on Saturday and we were baking haha!
Artists/Acts: IMHO, I believe the Prodigy was a bit too hyped up. I was let down by the acoustic/sound layouts of the various stages...it was 'boring' compared to last year (Boschendal). Also there weren't much of the better...more well-known artists and bands (now I not dissing/putting down the other bands and artists) but compared to last year's Synergy lineup, this year was a little bleak.
Pricing The ticket was a little bit more expensive than last year and I don't think the increase justifies for what we experienced there.
Conclusion: I did have a great time in terms of having fun with my friends and getting to 'chill' for the weekend' but I hope that Synergy would sort out all of the niggles for next year (if they're still going to have it at Theewater) or even better, take it back to Boschendal or one of the wine farms/estates closer to the metropole :thumb:
Overall rating: (Taking venue, lineup/acts, overall mood I felt) 6.4/10. Last year's Boschendal's score was: 7.9/10 :mmm:
