Hey guys, my name is Chad.

I own a 320i e30 that has been in the family for (i think) 22 or 23 years. Its been passed down to me and I love this car so much. Im still a student but Im slowly trying to get the car in better condition.

Ive read a lot of the posts on the forum and I hope I can learn some more from you guys. Im somewhat technically challenged, but Im working on that.

Hey man?
I can empathize with your situation. My 1st car was an '88 320i.
Started off being as you are, technically challenged. With the help of the forums (e30clubsa especially) I rebuilt that car in my backyard. Was a hot hatch muncher by the time I was done with it!
Now put up some pics man!

Unfortunately I dont have any pics..but Ive been driving her for almost 4 years now.

The reason Im taking a interest in fixing her up is because I would like to drive her for at least another 4 more years. I would probably keep her after that period though.

Im debating doing the engine over end of the year...it has low km in my opinion...around 250 000km. Theres some rust on the rear bumper as well but will be sorting it out end of the month.

We have done the waterpump a few years ago and the tappets is always a story on these cars. I want to do the engine over cause Ill most likely be having a much larger commute from next year and currently the car never sees over 80km/h that much. The car drives great, I wouldnt mind some more acceleration but its livable. The only problem is uphills...
plus I want to make sure the engine is in the best of conditions cause I know next year the cars going to get a bit of a fright.

Thanks for all the welcomes guys:thumbs:

There are some unspoken rules...

A project like this needs to be documented well with plenty of pictures on the forum.

You might as well start with the current pictures...I'm sure the guys here would keep you going with motivation and advice for as long as it takes.

We all live through these re-builds, as most of us aren't lucky enough to have what it takes.

Good luck, and stick to it.
