Perfect Sunday today in the Cape and since I was out helping a fellow member evaluate his first BMW and we needed to cut some time.

We decided to take the Countermanskloof/Visserhoek Road (the same road we took when we went on that Braai Run to Killarney early in the year) with my E34 :)

Stunning!....absolutely stunning piece of road! barely any traffic apart from the one or two cyclists.

Didn't go more over 100kph but man! that's a good road!

You missed the best bit... take the left at the school and hammer it. The road is used to access two commercial farms and is dead over the week-end. It is twisty and hilly and a dead end in a gravel road, so very little traffic.

We actually took this road on the last Breakfast Run to Killarney Racing Course!

Superb road that ends in the middle of no-where at a dirt road which is even more epic.

My fondest driving memories are doing that road weekly in a R53/R56 Cooper S (usually a trade car which we were not keeping) and stopping after doing it a few times at night with music playing and the turbo on the car glowing blood red as it idled cool. :joy:

I used to do that road maybe 10-12 times a week, how my fuel card survived the experience I dont know. :=):

The video's I can show you in convertible Cooper S R53's on that road. :fishwack:

Okay, I havent driven that road since. Somehow I doubt the Smart will feel the same as a JCW on full boost. :joy:

I was also at Countermanskloof this past Sunday morning, went via there on my way to Ysterfontein. Gave Carbon a run.

We are due for a run. I've commented on Jeff's thread about it. We doing it on Sun 1 July
