they call it EMISSION CONTROL-AIR PUMP.

it part of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). It feeds back a certain amount of exhaust gas back into intake. Helps to lower emissions

Hahaha, luckily not my car...got the pic off google. But that guy should not own a BMW if his engine bay looks like that. If its for emissions is it just mandatory in other countrie4s or has someone taken mine out:mmm:

Dis maar n moerse mooi engine bay daai Coisman.

Think you'll have to "skiet die bliksem" who doesn't clean his.

As you can also see the water container on the left is shaped to house one of those things and screws are in place but its like they just left it.

On the subject of clean engine bays...i bought some engine bay cleaner few days ago and tried to clean the bay but dont trust the instructions where it says rinse of with jet of water. Im too scraed to spray water on the wrong areas and wet some electronics im not supposed to. Especialy the lights. Any advise from the expert detailers?

Scouse, if you were to be at tomorrow's foto/breakfast run,
you would see how clean it really is, I just dusted it,
planned to properly spiff it up tomorrow morning before the drive. :thumb:
Also have to wash the car, :cursin: cause on my way home from the shops,
a pipe leaking water, and a dude in a 1400 bakkie splashed me so bad,
even my interior got wet through my open windows. :censored:

yea, just an air pump.. it just helps the cats warm up when the car is cold. only runs for 2 mins on cold start.... or if you re-start and the car is not warm properly...

Laigo, I had the gun drawn, ready to "Skiet die bliksem!!"
but I had so much water hit me in the face I had to pull over and clean myself off.
Man I tell you, that sucked big time.
Will teach me not to use the ac...
