Strongest N/A e46 M3?

Hi Guys

I am keen to find out what the strongest N/A e46 M3 (S54 Motor) is or was out there.

I have seen Rads M3 put down 338bhp on the wheels in DBN.

Anyone else know any strong ones?

Thanks

mine :mmm: :)

I would like to know what has been done to that car, as that is a shitload more than stock

Cams, induction, full exhaust, software.
It has run 13.6 @ ODI, if I can remember correctly.

Just comparison-
My stock Z4 M- with the same S54 motor- she makes 321bhp on the wheels @ the coast.
I have done 13.5s a few times @ ODI.

dyno sheet or this didnt happen :)

I find this very hard to believe. stock, these motors, under optimal conditions, with high grade fuel, are supposed to have 252kw at flywheel. 321bhp=240kw
that would equate to a 4% drivetrain loss.

in capetown, I did 220kw flywheel on zeemax dyno, as was told this is very strong for stock, although there are rumours of that dyno being fooked

I ran a 13.5 with his car at Blackrock last year. It's a lot stronger now tho. 338hp in it's latest config.

@kabal- there is actually another Z4 M that makes the same sort of power. He did 318bhp @ the wheels on the ODR dyno in DBN.

Here is the run we did when she had 700kms on the clock- pump fuel- just drove in and strapped it on, so no chance to cool the intake- this was @ BIMMERWORKS in DBN, Claude's dyno.

Figures on the left for the Z4 vs figures on the right for my Bro's 335i with FRC software.

vvn. are you sure this is not calculated flywheel figures like they do here in capetown, as the torque is pretty much identical to mine

The z4 made the 321 on another dyno aswell. It made the power at odr in dbn. Dastek uncorrected figures . Meaning it's about as stingy as they get . And from my experience the z4 m is far faster than an e46 m3. Infact it's faster than a stock e90 m3 v8

OSO RAD has the strongest N/A e46 M3:thumbsup:
EXCEDE every1's expectations:dropjaw:

Yes sir, it has indeed exceeded the output it made last time there. But I must say all the work, logging, and fine tuning on that car is down to 1 man. Andre. If it wasn't for him the car would not be where it is now.

We aim to get that car to make over 200 at Snail this year, if Radz still has it for a while. When he gets back, we shall get to work on extracting the max out of it for altitude. Most of the tuning at the moment is optimised for sea-level.

we hav 2 strong e46 m's in ct. both making 251kw and 250 respectively. the one is chipped, with lighter pulleys, and decat. He is making 251kw.

The other car imo is more impressive. he only has a chip (chiplogic). and he is making 250kw.
Unfortunately both cars do not hav 1/4 mile times.

but in ct the fastest m times are being held by e36's. and they making only 228kw and 209kw. you all know who's cars that is neh.
oh ya, the times are 13.1sec

Not sure power wise but I know Cleo Moodley has the quarter mile record of around 12.6 afaik.

the 6cyl N/A S.A record is 12.9 which is Raymond pillay with his Mpowered E30..
most local tracks are not MSA approved and there is a very good reason why.. and that is why they're times and records are worthless!!!

So in your books if I run 13.0 at Tarlton at a non MSA event does it still count?

Yes it does count, becoz Tarlton is an MSA approved track and you do need an MSA license to race there!! if you dont, you pay for a daily license but you still need a license!!! and for rules like tyres, weight reductions, fuel mixtures etc.. allot of wicked fuel mixtures can make ur cabbie go like a rocket from hell for example Nitro methane, tollene, thinners etc.. some of the small tracks dont even check if your battery is fixed and in place!!!

Take an Stock M3.. up the compression, strip all unnecessary weight, run it on methanol and nitromethane get a 4.10 diff and a set of full slicks and you will propably see 11s

There are some local tracks around were i stay and most of them have Trovelo traps!! but the speeds and times differ constantly!!.. ill go do a couple of runs on the next event and monitor them on my Racelogic Vbox!! and ill post their timeslips and the Vbox time slips!

Im not trying to argue with you guys, just courious coz im keeping track of S.A Records and then people post 12.6's.. 12.6 is mofo strong!! abroad guys run 12.4 N/A M3's.. and no reason why we cant do it here! but if you run it on a non MSA track then PLEASE go to a MSA track and get your TIMES in the books! we need some new records..
