Hi guys
I am in desperate need of some advise
Over the past weekend my house was broken in to
Unfortunately my all my car keys were stolen

Anyhow, my car is now stuck in my garage
I spoke to one of the guys from Leo Haesse and he rekons that the only way to get a new key os to have the master key
He says that if there are no keys avaiable for the car then i have to replace the entire lock set for the car, which is flippen expensive

He also says that i need to somehow get the car to BMW
I told him that the car is in my garage and that it was locked, so how the hell was i supposed to do this and he just shrugged

Has this happended to any one on the forum?
Is there any way to get another key for my car?

I remember reading on the drivesure site, that they could cut and code a new key without needing another key. Maybe give their site a look.

Sorry to hear about this.

Just a suggestion, if you have advice for this member please pm him the advice and not post on an open forum how to get into a locked car and disable the alarm system. Just a though.

Insurance usually cover keys and locks.

A good few years ago, I was hijacked in a GTI. Car was recovered, but without keys. Anyway, I used a spare set to get the car home and insurance replaced all the locks and covered a full new set of keys.

Chat to your insurance, as now the car becomes a theft risk to them, so they should replace the locks and keys.

Same happened when my wife who was still my GF back in the day, decided I spend way to much time in the street and chucked away the keys to my conqi, right before she moved out. Was stranded for a few hours until the insurance call center opened, was back in the street the next day by 12h00:rollsmile:

Officially, BMW is correct. Cannot do anything, need to replace the lock set and EWS/CAS, bout 7k a pop I think ?

You need one key at least, officially.

Unofficially, much to BMW's dismay, there are guys that can do "things",

Give DriveSure a call,

Alternatively, if you do this via insurance, via BMW you get a totally brand new set of keys, rending your old locks useless, which may be a better option.

Look, if you replace the keys with new ones without replacing the locks, the thieves will also have a working set...

Well,

What they should do is do a key cancellation on the EWS/CAS, but it would still physically unlock the vehicle.
