Originally bought the car back in December 2008. Was looking for a M-Tech bodykit. Found this in the junkmail, went to take a look, car wasn't running as someone decided to pour paint into the fuel tank. That clogged and burnt out the pump. The plan was to strip the kit off the car and sell the rest, that never happened. If you're wondering, the colour is Chamonix and not Ice-Brown :biggrin:
Replacing the tank. R250 from a scrapyard. Car had been sitting for 2 years prior. Old fuel smell was gut wrenching.
Hideous interior:
Didn't take us long to get it running. First turn of the key it fired right up. About a week later, thought it was a good idea to replace the "awesome" timing belt.
The painted mouldings looked liked ass, so those were changed, 16 inch wheels were added and the car dropped on some H&R springs.
Decided that the interior needed to go. Swapped to black, with a black material headliner. (Will need to take some pics of the finished product though)
The clutch was pretty pathetic and slipping quite badly. So changed that:
Cleaned up the gearbox:
And installed an American Anti-Theft Device :rollsmile: (E60 545i Short Shifter)
This is what the car looks like today with some Throwing star goodness
Future plans include a respray, some sport seats and maybe a wide grill conversion with face lift mirrors.
