Steering Wheel

Hey Guys,

So following on from my quest to a 135i I have managed to source a stunning 2014 model with 40k on the clock from BMW. This is after I missed an opportunity to get 2015 (which was exceeding my budget so a good thing I rate).

I really like the screen size of the display when the GPS option was selected so this was one of my “filter points when searching” however after testing the new 140s I really enjoy the thinner steering wheel they have on offer, as a first time BMW to be owner are these upgradable / changeable? Iv added pics below of the one I would like to get but if it’s not advised then I’d rather not fiddle.

I've seen guys do these swaps. Not sure what it all entails... but i agree with you that the first steering wheel is the nicer one. Had that one in my F30.

Thanks Xeqtr hopeful someone who has finds the thread. I did check and it seems like buttons are like for like. Lady at BMW wasnt to helpful with regards to my questions so would rather wait for some real life experiences from anyone who has done it. Just looks far cleaner and "slimmer".

Think is easily done, big cost items are the Steering and Airbag.

kili1 Ill keep you in check when it does happen, dont forsee it within the next 3 months as I get everything settled with the car first.

I did this swap about two weeks back. Plug and play in my 2013 pwg 135i. It's easy but getting the old wheel out is a bitch.
