Steering wheel change on E60

Just curious to know if anyone has changed the standard (non-sport) steering wheel to the sports one on a E60 5 series, without any complications (e.g. buying a new airbag, etc). I've seen guys do it on the E46s and older BMs, but not the E60.

... And no, I don't have an E60, but I do like them and maybe one day would consider it as a daily driver, but I just hate the standard steering wheel and curious to know if anyone has changed it.

And no, I would also not consider one with a sports package as my daily driver - had enough of sport/hard suspensions :cursin: .... hmmm, wonder if that is a sign of old age :mmm:

MSM...

Go for it dude, we need some more "Heavy Metal" around here....

I looked closely at the E60's as well.. a nice 550.. almost M performance, but still sane enough to use as a daily...

But why ONLY the wheel? I guess it will still look OEM, but how about pimping some more in there?

Would love a 550i, but as a daily driver I would rather opt for a 530i/d ...

Will wait till the new 5 series starts hitting the streets, as prices on the E60 will drop quite a bit.

Hi I also want to change my steering wheel to a sports one on my 2008 525i facelift, I prefer a fatter steering wheel, but have been batteling finding a used one.

Came accross this post but haven't seen an actual reply to the question. would you need the buttons, airbag etc.?

That would be interesting to know, but the standard wheel is not for men. My wife has an E90 sport pack and the E60 standard wheel is really non sporty.

Do you have an E65 wheel?
