Steering shaking under braking

Hi guys.

I am moedeloos now...

My car shakes terribly when braking. At high speeds it is naturally more prominent, but at low or crawling speeds it feels like it slightly grabs and releases.

I wrote off the previous set of discs as warped, but the brand new set started doing it after about 3 weeks. On the previous disc the problem went away after a skim, but also came back after about 3 weeks.

I did install ferodo discs and pads, so it shouldn't be a question of bad parts...

The other thing than bothers me is that I have to buy E46 brake parts for my E90. I have to take the discs and pads back every time because the parts people don't believe me.

Could it be a bedding issue?

If new rotors sorted out the issue (albeit for 3 weeks) it will definitely be brake related.

It is quite possible that the new rotors are also warped.

It's not uncommon for brand new rotors to have runout.... Even bmw now measure new rotors for runout when installing to avoid the brake shudder...

Also lots of aftermarket Pads and Disks are of pathetic quality these days...

I will tell you now that ferodo discs are the problem.i had the exact problem after installing brand new ferodo discs and they started shuddering after a month. I now installed OEM discs and the problem instantly went away.

Hard to say as BMW use various manufactures. ATE, textar etc etc.

I installed brand new BMW discs last year. After about 3 months they began to shudder.

Took it for a skim and it sorted it out. I DID bed in properly and still had the issue.
Dude at the brake place that done the skim said it happens with new disks sometimes warping and need skimming.

Try skim one last time.

Check with the dealership. I paid a good price for mine, R2800 for all four.
