Its an e14, no space to hammer. The camera was pushed against the firewall. just enough space for a ratchet and socket.

extra long extension from the back of the gearbox then hammer on the socket, use same extension with a power bar attached.....it will come out :tiptoe:

Coming from below? This is getting tricky! Is access clear to the bellhousing from the back? I know the floorpans have to be removed, but is that it?

Presume 'floorpans' you are referring to....are the splash covers and engine safety plate? those have to be removed to get better access. I normally loosen the gearbox support bar and jack the front of the engine a little....that then gives more than enough space to get a long extension onto the bolts. good luck.

I managed to drill a wedge across the edge of the bellhousing to get behind the collar of the etorx bolt and then chiseled the head away. Whoever at BMW decided to use those bolts should be shot dead, in the freakin head!

thanks for the advise all!
