START OF Restores.. 2002 and 1600

So I have been delaying the start of my 2002 and 1600 restorations.

First off will be my wifes 67' 1600. The car was from Kakamas and hasnt been on the road since 84'. My first point is getting the car back onto the NATIS system and getting the engine I bought in Durban linked to the chassis. I have someone at my local Traffic Dept who is going to help with the paperwork etc, clearance and so forth. Untill its not registered.. i spend not a cent.

My wife picked Fyord Blue with Navy Vinyl interior, as per the original colour combo. This will be a strictly to OEM project and should turn out like this..

My personal 2002 is going to be a more tricked and pimped option. After much deliberation, from Inka Orange to Black to silver I picked a lovely Laguna Seca Blue.
Actually the included pic is very similiar to what I am heading for. Dechromed, Blacked trims, Mahle 5 bolt wheels, Alpina Wheel arches which I already got, Modernised interior. Engine will be hotter tuned than standard, mated through a Dogleg 5spd and LSD diff.



Keep all posted as we move. if anyone knows of a set of front seats from a 2 door E30, bucket type, either 325i, 325is or 333, any condition let me know.

Dive in head first....Luis, do yourself a favour and look up the Stanceworks forum/Builds and look for Heists build....its one of the finest custom 2002's I think I will ever see....he is building an awesome car there and it should give you a couple of pointers if you intend pimping your '02.

Yip.. want to get these builds going, otherwise these cars are gonna become garden/gnome ornaments.

I will look up stanceworks, I have seen some of his work, nice stuff indeed.

As for the 850.... RIP so far.

Left it after installing the engine and having one side run cold. 1-6 is receiving fuel and spark but doesnt seem to be firing correctly. EML keeps coming up all the time. We worked on it yesterday with a Diagnostic tool and it keeps coming up with same problem, also keeps refusing us to go into EML to diagnose. Swapped, MAF's, DK's and Computers, removed exhaust and and and ....... I have now come to end of my tether and f@#king around and will be booking it in at Budler Motorsport, unless someone advises me otherwise. I have heard good things about Budler so lets see. Phoned today and he is opening next week and must make an appointment.

i wanted a 2002 so badly for my build but just couldnt find one, one look like it was used for target practice with a tank for 15K... goodluck with the project, very interested
