not my type of game. too long winded. better to play with lots of people, and just dont have the time to play.

these other games i can go in, shoot around for about 30 minutes, get my quick fix and then do something else. with SC the game will have barely started after 30 minutes.

loved these games as a kid when i had lots of time on my hands.

serious? sorry, then i have lost touch. i remember playing the previous starcraft for ages per game.

Maybe in single play, but not in a normal ladder multiplay game

I am probably one of the Hugest Starcraft fans out. I love the fact that they have spent so much time in the campaign. I absolutely loved Wings of liberty. Finished the game on Normal, then Hard then Brutal, for achievements. Started playing HOTS yesterday.

If I can give a tip for everyone trying to avoid the massive download.

Copy the client from someone that already has it running on their pc.

The following folders are needed. Starcraft 2 (from install dir)

And "Blizzard Entertainment" and "Battle.Net" from the "Hidden" Program data folder. And Voila!

Loving the game, finished the campaign on normal and all the normal achievements 2 days ago.

Now to get all the achievements on Brutal

@Twinz it is a fast paced RTS, the campaign however has a large portion or RPG as well. You always command at least one Hero, and some missions have no base building phase at all. Just units and missions.

Well rounded and balanced game.

The multiplayer phase is very very different, very competitive but also very vast and fun. People get pooled in equal experience levels. So you won't always get shafted by a pro player.

There's also millions of mods. DOTA style maps, Tower defence, Desert strike, etc etc. Literally something for everyone.

Wings of liberty even has an arcade game that you can play in the campaign.

I really like the game... wings of liberty was ok, but Heart of the Swarm is brilliant. (at least the campaign). Love it.

I was blown away by WOL. And HOTS just improved so much more on the campaign. If you weren't a die hard fan of starcraft 1 this sure will get you hooked raise:
