Hopefully if the 5 is gone before this one is gone i will be buying it.

Its a 02 325ci, manual with sunroof and harmon kardon. 88 000km on the clock.

If things go as planned with the 5 series sale, this should be in my garage by late next week :pimp::slap:

Sorry guys, wont be getting this anymore. I had called BMW to check for comments on the car and it had been in 2 accidents. 1 a code c and the other a code b. After calling the guy back to tell him about this, he said the car is sold.

Blessing in disguise maybe!!!

What does the code C's and B's stand for?

I know about Code 01's, 02's and 03's. Is this an alternantive?

Code A, B, C... is probably how bmw codes cars thats been accident damaged

The lady that i spoke to says that Code b is a small to medium accident damage, code c is medium to large damage.

Thats what i understand by what i was told.

code 1, 2, 3... is how the registration dept codes cars!!!

Hmm interesting. Thanks for sharing this information with us. The more we know the more knowledgeable we become!!

Its however not very fool proof, cos If I have a major accident with my car and I have it repaired on my own, how would a prospective buyer know whether it had been? I've come across a few vehicles where I could see that it had been accident damaged but the reg papers still indentifies it as a code 02.

Well like you say, "a blessing in disguise" Someone is surely looking out for you!!

Up her in Joburg the dealers generally give you either a:

C1 comment - under R50k damage
C2 comment - between R50k and R100k
C3 comment - over R100k damage

I almoost bought an E46 M3 that went through a accident that caused R130k damage...:dropjaw:

My god am i a lucky guy... So far, both the CI's i had in mind had comments on it.

The black had c2 and c3, 2 separate accidents.
The silver one had a c2 comment.

Luckily i checked before i signed! Also, surprisingly, after checking up with BMW about both the cars and then calling the person that is selling the car to let them know the info you found out, the cars are apparently sold.

Glad you found out before they took you for a ride.

I own a 2006 E46 325ci and it is an amazing car.

Hold out until you find a good one, I found the build quality a lot better than the locally produces 4-door E46's

ciao
