Hi Cole,

The procedure is relatively simple. The intake manifold is removed from the car and the valves are bead blasted using crushed walnut shell. Its a clean process as the beads are shot through a special cone which has a vacum cleaner attached to it so no mess is left.
I would recommend on a 2.0TFSI to have this done at 50,000km for the first time. This will give you the new car feel again in terms of smoothness of the motor, consumption and performance. Thereafter you will notice the changes over time and decide when is the best time. Pictures of various TFSI's with different mileage can be view here: http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=40934

Looks good man! Just a question, if I use caltex techron 95 every now and then, to what extend would it keep carbon build up clear?

Have a new car now so not a problem yet, just want to know by doing some preventative measures if there are any..

Here is a video of the famous gun I speak about showing a technician conducting a clean on a Mazda. The ports are so small that we had to modify a water pipe to cover the port.

Here is a picture showing the combustion chamber of a direct injection car. As you can see the fuel never goes past the valves and is injected directly into the combustion chamber. Fuel will not make any difference.

Have you done any work on a 320d yet?

We have had a look at a few E90 320D and would recommend it being done if you are above 100,000km. We have just launched a special now here Diesel Special

Will look into it someday then as my car is only on 55 000 KM
