Software Upgrade for S4 Mini

Yip its available, but via phones updates. Install kies 2 on your pc and do it through there. Same applies to s4. The only time free to air updates will work is if the phone was not coded by a mobile carrier eg vodacom or mtn

Did mines at work, post which versions I have tomorrow. However I remember it asking me to upgrade the version first before it the upgrade.
Prior to me connecting phone to koes I could not do upgrade thought the phone only. It Stayed only on 4.2.2.
To see if you can do it straight from the phone, go to settings, click on MORE on the top right hand side on screen, then scroll right down to ABOUT. Click on update software. If it doesnt allow you to update from here, it means the phone was loaded with mtn, vodacom or cell c software first. This happens most of the time when you geeting your own phone through a contract. If this happens, then you need to go through the kies/pc route.

Nope kies 3 wont.work. It only works on 4.3 onward

Only next step if not working is checking with damsung at theor centers. Roodeport and pretoria.

How to update your Samsung Galaxy s4 with Kies.
Download and install the official Samsung Kies software.
Once you have installed Kies to your computer start it up.
Connect your phone to your computer with the USB cable.
If this is the first time you connect your phone to the computer, give it a couple of minutes to install the necessary drivers and connect.
If any updates are available a pop up will appear. Click update and hit confirm once you have read the caution statements.
Hit the start upgrade button.
All that is left for you to do is wait until the update is complete and hit the confirm to finish the installation.

It will have the build number, then under that it should have a different firmware build
If thats the case then you should see a button that says update firmware, press that andnthen follow the prompts.
