so my wifes car is off plan now.

2007 325i msport auto.

its an absolute gas guzzler at 14.5l/100kms. she does mostly stop/start, school run/shopping type of driving.

will a software update improve fuel consumption ?

does more torque= easier acceleration from start meaning less fuel ?

how do i achieve this ?

Thats similar consumption to my moms 2010 320i auto

I am sure a economy tune will improve it, but auto and stop go traffic is no good

I had my auto box software updated by BMW on my 330D and yes it improved by over 2L per 100km, guess it would boil down to exactly what is causing the increase but for me it worked.

They are heavy on fuel in town. 13 to 14 is the best you will get. Had the325i LCI evenaftersoftware and head it just stayed the same only small improvement to 13l/100km.But on the long road they do good but not made for town unfortunately. If you remove the Cats I assume you will improve fuel consumption a bit more.

This is the reason I converted to the Dark Side (diesel)
