So many 6 Pot Turbo's for sale?

I see there are so many 135's, M135's, 335's for sale on this forum. (im sure everywhere else also) Did i start a trend? :dunnoanymore:

I think everybody is realizing that the cost of these machines aren't exactly everyone's cuppa tea.

Whats your take on it?

I think these are just very popular cars on one hand and will come up for sale in relatively large volumes... although the other concerns do play a part I'm sure. I am shocked every time I see guys quotes on plan extensions so it seems BMW knows this too...

Many people are trading up too... Prices of 2nd hand M's are damn tempting!

I do not see many daily driven M nor x35/40s on the GP main traffic roads.. I am one of the few that try to daily it but at 2 tanks a week yeah it gets interesting.. :dunnoanymore:

Hence I do swop cars a lot lately.

Had a n54 for quite some time. Reason for selling was no e of the above. Sometimes u just want/need a change... BTW car was super reliable, pretty sure because it was maintained the way it was suppose to be.

I don't think it's because they faulty or expensive to maintain. However as stated, many people are trading in for newer cars. The 135 and 335 were popular in both e and f series, so it's no wonder you see them for sale. Have a look at the x35 register and you will see how many owners there have been to date.

It comes down to the personal preference, N54/N55 everyone know the common issues and some can be expensive. But as said, people like to upgrade to newer cars. For me I don't think I will sell as I like my N54

I think the biggest issue is the fuek consumbtion.
I would love to own one of the cars with N55 engine.
But fuel is the reason why i have not done so.:dunnoanymore:

I don't know hey, I barely see x40s around each day. See more daily S55s than them :=): But not many.

But yes I believe most last model N55s are going off plan now so owners are offloading them.

X35's are popular and very much in demand in 2nd market given how much power and entertainment they provide for the price. It's been around for a while hence why all the recent trades. Though, I've hardly seen any x40's as the guys are probably getting more joy out of awd alternatives that will put B58's to shame. I actually see a lot more rs3's and a45's than the new b58. There will soon be a niche market for x35 and x40's owned by fanatics. In all other cases, the average rich speed junkie or the average 40% residual, guaranteed buy back guy will want what is fast under all conditions; this is made worse by increasing number of videos showing x35 and x40 limitations against awd. Case in point, m4 getting schooled by Golf R's from launch in non ideal conditions. Likewise b58 will stand no chance. Wish the 1 series could keep the 6pot and just add awd. Going forward, we'll get awd, but rwd and 6 cylinder will be sacrificed.

Thanks Bru. Good post. I myself will rather buy a Golof or A45 if it comes down to pure off the line performance. Other than that nothing beats my pure driving pleasure BM's at the moment. Both my F25 and the F21 is just such an awesome drive. Something that other manufacturers can't seem to get right. Oh and by the way. You get the x35 and x40 in AWD. Just not here in SA..
