Johannesburg - A Johannesburg woman was arrested for speeding on the N1 south in Midrand over the weekend, Johannesburg metro police said on Sunday.

The 33-year-old woman was pulled over after she was clocked driving at 214 km/h in her BMW, spokesperson Wayne Minnaar said.

"She told officers that she was in a hurry to get to her home in Florida as she works as a site manager and was working until late."

Minnaar said the woman would appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday along with seven other motorists arrested for speeding.

:thumbdo: Makes us lot look so bad. When in a small convoy with buddies I'm the only one ever to get pulled over by the "rozzers" :thumbdo:
They all drive VW's :nonono:

I read an article a while back on News 24 about a someone who got caught speeding in a bmw. They also went on to mention 6 other people were also caught speeding that same weekend, but they don't mention any brands:nonono: I get the impression that the media makes it a point to mention the brand of car when it's a bmw driver:yuck:

well the other brands are just sooo boring, that no one really cares what cars it was, the BMW name makes the news paper sell, cause its everyone's bench mark.
