Slip on rear exhaust mufflers, revisiting

I'm pondering on getting the Eisenmann/Akropovic slip on rear mufflers for the E92. I know the last time I spoke to my dealer concerning this for the M6 - they said it would void my warranty unless it was an ACS part. I went that route and wish I stayed OEM and saved myself 45k. Other than the look, it sounds almost OEM anyway.

Has the attitude changed since with modifications? I just want to change the mufflers and have no potential effect on any of the sensors as they will obviously be untouched during the swap.

I suppose one could also go the route of taking them on and off everytime it goes in for service or repairs, but that is too time consuming for me.

Your experiences are appreciated.

I know someone with the Akrapovic full system on his e92 M3.
Attitude is still the same from motorplan regarding mods.

If you do suspension mods, they will not cover suspension related claims... which is ok.

But exhaust mods and obviously engine mods, they can void the engine cover..... so that's a problem when fitting the exhaust.
Still alot depends on your dealer.

Or you could always remove the boxes whengoing in for servicing.

Mike, the guys at the dealer must like you a little. I have been blind eyes turned to mods in reguards to motorplans for friends of the dealers. Cant you become friends with the service manager? Because he knows as well as your that those minor mods wont damage the car.

Thanks guys. I know the owner of the dealership extremely well. He is a conservative chap and gives me huge discounts on cars everytime I buy. I think he is scared that if he approves minor mods, he will jeopardize his reputation and get a fine from BMW's local head office. He has apologized profusely the last time I enquired with the M6.

Revo, I am buying from the same american vendor that guy you have mentioned with that E92. I believe the owner's name begins with a K. If it were my only vehicle, I wouldn't mind doing the taking on/off muffler route everytime it went in for servicing, but I have quite a few cars (shhhh calypso ). I don't have the time to go to a private workshop everytime to remove etc. then go to the dealer. Too much of a head ache for me as it is, with the number I cars I have to get serviced every year.
