Had my ride servised Las week.
Seems to me we pay for the cars and they decided what needs to be done.
The car was recoded as the service ihtervals where too long. Before it was done they said only the intervals would be adjusted. 2 days later a complete coding was done.
The only way to get a progress report was to call them.
The steering is off slightly. (Pulls left)
When I go to fetch the car the SA tells me the wheel alignment is out??? I KNOW this. That's why I put it on the book in form. They say only BMW can fix it. I KNOW this.
Sorry they can't fix it as there machine is out. And then they go n to tell me the MP will only pay for it once every 30000 km's.
I don't understand, I don't go home at night and say to myself lets knock the weel alignment out so BMW have to pay.
Before the service my car was running well, 10l/100 average if I drove cool.
I'm now sitting on 15.8l/100 when I drive real carefully. If I go to S on the dct it goes to 18 in a matter of km's.

Its almost as if they don't want people to drive there cars. Definitely not anyone who is in the least bit technical.
The old feeling that you got when you had a BMW of security and MP has my back is gone.
It seems that the MP is an excuse for the dealer to hide behind all the time.

Thanks for listening but I am a little frustrated.
LOVE THE CAR HATE BMW.
Could be a problem

They all the same. To find a dealership that actually cares is impossible. This is for all brands of cars. Audi are 1000 times worse than BMW. But reading some comments on here, I worry that BMW is heading the same way.

Wish they would drop the prices and give Motorplan as an optional extra and offer a warranty as opposed to a MP. I would definitely not take the MP. Put that saved money in a savings account and use when I need.

Problem is you get VW who used to offer the GTI (golf 5) with a MP and now don't (golf 6) yet they still increase the prices. Car prices and dealership attitude are just stupid in this country. BMW know they make awesome cars, so they are relying on that for sales. If they had to rely on their aftersales service, who would actually spend that extra on a BMW?

I have heard similar stories before, and it seems that BMW forgets that these cars don't come cheap, not in price as well as maintenance.

A colleague of mine took in his N55 335i and paid 40k for some stupid computer box issue, while the car is in MP. They fixed it, he went on vacation two weeks later, another problem started that costed him 20k... he's going to sell the car.

What are people supposed to do with such non-sense? :thumbdo:

Why did he pay over R60k if his car is still covered by MP? Doesn't make sense

That's not good at all. And to think I just got my car recently due to the "famous" BMW service :nonono:

exact same reason why I bought mine :flyfun:

As a first time BMW owner im far from impressed with BMW service
infact its shocking

The dealer who i bought the car from are retarded and after my first service they never fixed any of the issues I requested to be fixed

Its been 3 weeks now and i havent even had a courtesy call
let alone a call from BMW asking how the sale of my car went

I think im one of the few guys who actually had only good services from BMW.
I only deal with auto umhlanga(durban) and their service is very good.
The only problem i have ever had was me waiting a bit longer to be dropped of back at work, short of drivers was the only problem.

I always get a call after any problems or check up on the car, and if my car even has dust settled on it, it always goes back to the wash bay.

I guess buying a e92 335 and a 135 within a year puts you as a valuble customer, but i wouldnt take my car anywere else.

Recently they even sent me dad's 335 for polishing at their cost, because they said the car was looking a bit dull for a new car!!
We didnt complain but thats the kind of effort they put in.

It didn't make sense to me either, but that what he told me.... and I know the car has MP because he has it for less than a year, from brand new.

Look carefully they messed up the car some where, dont think they would send it for a polish if they did not put a mark on the car. but it could be just good service

The brilliant service continues
On Tuesday I call to speak to the workshop manager to discuss the wheel alignment.
The guys at Auotowiel checked it and need to set the camber and the toe.
To do this there is a pin on the shock tower which needs to be removed and being under motor plan, I need to check if this can be done.
No, don't do that is the reply, our machine is being fixed as we speak, bring it in on Thursday and we will sort it out here.
Fine no issue as it saves me money and my MP is protected.
I call this morning to check what time only to hear they are not site if its working yet but they will call me.
By 1 I decided to ask what's going on only to be told no its broken, they are busy trying to fix it and if I want something done I must sort it out with another dealer myself.

This was not cool. I called back to speak to the dp but he is away.
His PA, is amazing. In 10 mins she had an appointment at Leo hues in town for tomorrow set up. I think she should manage the workshop and sales and we would have a dealer worth having.
Why can all the people do there jobs as well as she does someone elseswithout breaking a sweat.

I only deal with Donford Stellenbosch.

1. The front desk service is amazing
2. The job card is explained clearly and whatever it is you want them to check.
3. If there is a problem you get a call or sms immediately and your input is requested.
4. Repair costs are declared before work is carried out.
5. The technical team is committed and if a job is really challenging you are consulted.
6. The best part is the principal dealer is always available to assist or listen if there is a problem that is unresolved. This is helpful because the workshop knows their performance is monitored.

If there is a problem, it is expl

I deal with Continental Cars in PE, and also happy to say their work is always great. Lucky that it is this way, because there arnt any decent independents in PE even if I wanted to try alternatives.
