Dear Mr XXXXX

Our records show that you are the owner of the BMW 335i VIN: XXXXX

As part of on-going quality analysis at BMW, it has been established that the bolted connection on the variable camshaft control (VANOS) housing may be able to come loose. This causes the engine warning light to be displayed and a BMW dealership must be visited immediately. If the journey is continued for an extended period, this can, in individual cases, cause the engine to cut out when the vehicle is in motion.
To ensure that your vehicle is in perfect working order, the bolted connections on the VANOS adjustment unit should be replaced on your vehicle.

You are therefore kindly requested to make an appointment at your earliest convenience

Any one else get this ?

Has anyone seen a similar error on the e46 m's. I had my the electronic throttle valve switch replaced about 2 months ago and the eml error went away. Just last week the error returned and the engine cut out. What should I look out for and get checked?
