if anyone can make an NA M engine perform its chiplogic they have been experimenting alot so they know what works... FI cars are easy because all you have to do is turn the boost up... maybe you should contact chiplogic and see what they say...

i spoke to them about the e46 M3 exhaust and they said just a decat and a back box was the best that could be done for the exhaust because its pretty good stock...

I have seen a bit of what chiplogic do with intakes and its pretty insane

would not be surprised if this M3 the OP wrote about has had extensive head work done with cams i would really like to know more about what magic they worked on this car :)

How well did you hide the NOS?

So well that i didnt even know it was there :=):

Chip tune on NA M3's won't give any gains, maybe some losses.

I wonder which cave you have crawled out of.:thumbdo:
So what you basically saying is nearly every single chip tuning company in the world is a fraud?

Huh?

Exactly, but the "smooth way" George posts might lead people to believe those gains were without any mods, else he would say whats been done. Its a bit like the bodybuilding magazines belonging to supplement companies telling all those not in the know that you could reach the body sizes of the contracted bodybuilders by eating or drinking the junk supplements they make, but conveniently omitting the fact that those guys take 1000's of ml of anabolic roids.

George, what has all been done to the car in question?

On the oil burners they don't increase boost, just more oil, but yeah, on the petrol ones I have seen insane results. My boet did a chip on a X5M, the FI 408kw and the results was mind boggling, acceleration G's that hurt.

What you actually said was that there is no gain and sometimes losses. So I set up a challenge. You pick the dyno, I will pick the tuner. Put a value per kw gained that you are prepared to pay so its not a waist of money to you. The car gets tuned and we see the outcome. If there is zero gain I will pay you R5000 for you waisted time. You can bring your chip tuner brother with.
I have no interest in Chiplogic neither do I represent them in any way. You can go through all the chip or performance related threads and you will see I have not punted them once.
As for the car in question the owner is on the forum and he is welcome to list his mods. Its not my place to give out information on a private vehicle.
Some food for though is when the car in question was developed you could only get 93 octane at the reef so tuning of the car stock is very conservative and decent gains can be made. Further food for thought is to research what actually occurs on the quarter mile and to see that traction plays a far greater role than power.
I do apologize for calling you a caveman but your statement really has no basis.

Its cool George, apologies to you too. But sometimes I do dwell in caves, can't help it.

And may i just repeat what i said before Dean, Very very well done, hope you got that clutch fixed

@whacko, Exede, Chiplogic and a few other tuners have tuned these N/A cars and showed big gains, just scroll through the forum for dyno sheets....so to the people who's been telling you, that you wount have gains with SW on a ///M3, you can tell them that "we've been having it!"

Cool, those are very good times. Don't have the MCoupe anymore otherwise I would take George up on the challenge. The M5 will be in good hands at Zeemax, mods will be filter, decat and software, no limit on top speed except the revs, so good for 300+ km's per hour. I'm not so much into street racing anymore, I go for the long run.
I'm a skeptic, so whenever I question results, it's not to be taken seriously.
