Saw a new 118i on Saturday

I am sure loads of people have seen them already but I saw my first one on the street on Saturday

This guy was really driving the crap out of it

I couldn't get a run in the traffic was bad and my wife was with me but it is quite quick from what I saw we would be quite evenly matched. It sounds good to lots of boost sound.

I was looking at the Specs and it performs really well but the fuel consumption was a big surprise to me 6.2 l/100km's in town??

Does anyone own one of these cars what type of fuel consumption do you get with it. Do you even get close to 6.2?[/align]

In Eco pro drive, i think it is possible to see those figures. But those cars are such fun to drive i think most drivers will drive them in a very spirited manner.

I agree the way that guy was driving it on Saturday I really doubt you going to be getting less that 10 l/100km

What colour is your car the filter you were using on the pics makes it difficult make out is it some type of Matalic green or Bronz or something?

Also Whats the Point of the 120d besides a slightly better fuel consumption performance is about the same without all the SSSSSSSS when you driving around

I was also skeptical where the looks are concerned but after much scrutiny at the BMW car club day at Zwartkops not too long ago, i actually found myself admiring the car, it takes some time getting used to but afterwards u will notice its beauty, i would get 1 if were looking for a new hatch!!!:thumbs:

A very good point about the 120d. Never thought of it in that way. And I remain convinced the 116 is going to be the best seller of the range....precisely because of your point. :thumbs:

look at the base price difference

116i 269k
118i 288k - 2 seconds quicker 0 - 100 for 19k extra sounds reasonable
120d 325k - 0.2 seconds quicker 0 - 100 for a wopping 37k extra I say screw that for that money you can buy a lot of extras for the 118i.
