Samsung Galaxy S4 issues

My phone has been doing some crazy things these past few days...

1. There's no sound at all
2. Phone reboots on its own
3. Made a weird scratching sound once out of the blue and I wasn't even using it at the time.
4. When I make a call it just dials but doesn't go through. When I receive a call I can hear the person on the other line.

I tried rebooting several times, even removed the battery and reinserted it. After a few reboots the sound started working and then again it just stopped.

This is really disappointing as I now have a completely useless phone. Nobody can get through to me or me to anybody. Phone is still under warranty so will be taking it in, but the inconvenience argh!

Anyone else experience similar issues with their Samsung Galaxy S4? If so what solved the problem?

I have a Samsung S1 that gave similar problems

google search for a master reset procedure sorted it for a few day, before it started playing up again.

Porbably a software issue

I still use a Nokia E90 as a "PHONE" and SMS device, all these new "so-called" phones are more a toy than a phone, and so easily damaged...Nokia is like a brick in comparison

just google "master reset on Samsung S4".....on the S1 it was something like hold Powerbutton as well as Volume up button for 10 secs....but all data will also be lost I fear in doing this.

I have done a cache data reset...found the procedure on google...but was afraid of doing the master reset as well because I can't seem to backup the phone using Kies3. Will try and get the backup done then maybe attempt a master reset.

I suggest taking it in and getting them to sort this issue out whilst it is still under warranty. Just now they might say that whatever you tried resulted in the phone being the way it is....

Its very strange though, I got s4, love it and no issues at all.

I am having the exact same issues on my S3 mini. Took it to MTN and they repaired it ... a week later and the issues returned except for the speaker which still works...called MTN and they said bring the phone back :thumbdo:

Try taking it directly to Samsung... I'm pretty sure you're going to have better service that way instead of sending it through your carrier...

+1 it solved my issues they replace everything for free and then my phone got stolen :cry: but take it directly to Samsung s4 has two year warranty

I'm going there with my S3 soon...
its the best they do a good job and they don't keep the phone long tell them you need it urgently. I got mine back the next day for screen replacement and it was freezing and getting hot they replaced circuit board aswell.

Took it to Samsung SmartCare, they replaced a few things, motherboard, usb something amd speaker....came to about R4k...lucky the fone was under warranty. Issues solved now.

Always freezing, always slow, stopped vibrating at 1 point. Thankfully Samsung is fairly quick with their repairs and got my phone back the following day, but the inconvenience :nonono:
I always hated the iPhone, but seems like I'll have to head that way once this stupid contract expires.

Wanted to say you can take you phone to Samsung SmartCare, was going to say my SO can help you as she works there. But see you have done so, glad you sorted :thumbs::thumbs:

I Should have come on here sooner - would have been 30min maybe a bit longer say a day max - Next time
