Saldanha 335i JB4 DP meth DCI & e92 M3

It was a massive disapointment! Last year with my JB alone i did 204km down the 800km- Then i went thru the year adding a new JB board, down pipes, methonal and an intake. So with the added mods i thru in 100 oct fuel.

As i pull away i expect crazy gains- i hit .......wait gor it .... 207km! 3 whole kms more.

Then an e92 M3( standard) let me know he did 211 :(- So all i hear whole day is a 335is is dyno car.

Sounds like something not right. There are guys with less mods doing better times. Lots of variables I suppose.

I dnt know anymore, i need to have it checked out somehow.but what really put a damper on my day was having my ass handed to me by a golf5 (modded)?

As i said above with the old JB and no added mods it was 3kms slower. Without a tune i would not race the car.

Hardware adds hardly any power, besides meth. But Meth needs to be done right & setup right.

hardware allows your car to push higher boost. but i would say you need to follow that up with:

- custom tune
- traction

Thanks for input, i was under impression DP wouldmake big difference then also thought JB4 map 3 is meant for meth- so u suggest a custom map rather?

curious to know what psi you were pushing before and after hardware mods. have you limited boost in first and second gear? and if not, what tyres were you using? as for the custom map question, ask the pros. something i am not sorry

Start with logging your car...at the moment your guess is as good as ours.

Traction isn't really a factor in an exit speed competition. ET isn't measured, just trap speed.

Intake doesn't make much power & neither does DP. Intake makes a couple hp when you running over 1.1 bar. And DP just makes more torque at low rpm.

A good intercooler with less pressure loss can gain you maybe 0.1 bar. But in my opinion, the only hardware mod that really makes power on the N54 is meth.

probably. was just thinking that if you not putting the full power down in the first 2 or 3 gears on an 800m run then you have less space to get your speeds up. it now becomes what speed you can do in 600 or 700m.

yo AM SALIE nice meeting you on saturday.... maybe it was my helmet that slowed you down lol.... i was also a little dissapointed with my exit speed with the corolla but hey we had some fun and its back to the drawing board i guess...
i tried launching the car and easing the car off the line i got the same speeds.........

Did you test your meth & check flow in dash before your run?
What mixture were you running? Which 100Oct fuel you put in?
You should have easily been around 225 - 235km/h on the 1km
Maybe run you car on the dyno, Map 0, Map2, Map 5, Map 7 and then Map 3. Maybe u was on Map4...please check indash....
