S54 Z3 M Coupes in South Africa

hi there!

im from UK (near to london)

i registered over here to see if i can find more info on the S54 RHD cars that were originally sold in South Africa

i keep reading quotes posted around that only 35 were originally destined for SA

however, i have been compiling a list of all the RHD S54's in the world, and i seem to have 40 VIN numbers which were originally specced for south africa

is there any official documentation showing how many were sold?

im trying to build up information on how many RHD S54 cars are left in the world! hoping to make a register, but need the help of owners (and previous owners!) or anyone that has facts on them :)

its hard to work out which SA car is which, since i dont know the VIN numbers of the cars (only the SA registrations shown in pics!)

is there already any kind of register for the SA cars?
i want to include them in the total of RHD cars since there were not a lot of them made!

if any owners are willing to send info on their cars (pics, info, chassis number) you can pm me for my email address (not sure if i am allowed to post it on here?)

i already have some pics and interesting information stored (some specific to individual cars) happy to share with owners on request.

reason im asking, is i have 40 RHD S54 VIN's allocated to South Africa :)
just trying to figure out how many S54's were ACS specced (it might well have been 35 ACS cars and 5 standard S54?) or 40 ACS cars in total.

Everythong I have heard is for 35 and all were ACS equiped.

I have heard mention of the 40 that were sent with RSA spec,
I have 3 theories:
5 were sent to neighbouring countries, through RSA.
They ended up in another market like Australia... they get the same spec as us.
The cars did not sell well here. Possibly they were reallocated.

thanks! i have similar theories, but im trying to work on facts rather than guesses :thumbsup:

i did see a post from an S50 owner who is in Botswana, so its possible other cars could have ended up in neighbouring countries.

a few UK cars are scattered around other countries now (after being exported!)

does anyone know of any S54's being exported from SA to elsewhere?
