HOWSIT gents,

Having a bizzare issue with my 330d. The missus rolled the car into someone's towbar so the bumper kakked. Had it replaced by insurance and while I was there I out new headlights and fogs as well.

Since I collected it it has had a intermittent thud in the wheel arch. I lifted the bonnet and found that the light itself on the LHS was clicking and thudding in the exact same rythmic action and it stopped when you turned the light off. Cool, no hassles.

Today I drive the car and the thudding returns with lights off totally, open the bonnet and the sound appears to be coming from the inside of the fender but in the exact same rythm.

Called Gizmo and he suggested unplugging the motors in the lights which I did and as yet the car hasn't thudded BUT does anyone have any idea what's up??

Hi Rhett,

I am not clued up at all, but if you say its the motors are making a noise, i assume its self adjusting??? Perhaps you need to look at where the maximum and min limits are on the adjustment thread or bar, perhaps it was assembled wrong and where the min adjustment would be all the way to the left or right, it may have been assembled in the middle - so when it starts up or runs, it tends to run to its last know position, and if assembled wrong, it could be over running, similar to an electric gate motor.

Dont beat me with a stick, I am taking a shot in the dark here, without seeing or hearing the problem.

Hope it helps...if not...elaborate a lil more..pics are always good.

Shot bud!
