thats the problem with big corporations they take advantage of their brand power and expect that alone to generate their future sales ...

 it sucks... you get to love something so much only to have it cheapened in the name of profit... :bangdesk:

Mine is a March 2013 model but no rust. Seat frames are painted and seat pan seems to be made of galvanised sheet metal :fencelook: So somewhere in end 2012 start 2013 they sorted this issue

Don't worry, the car's motorplan and parts will expire rendering it completely useless way before the rust eats through it. And you guys give me uphill for not liking the newer models...:slap:

The brand seems to be moving the opposite direction.....and its not Forward....:thumbdo:

While brands like Kia & Hyundai seem to be doing their best to improve build quality......

Eish. I rather take a bit of rust than drive a Kia. I test drive a cerato koup cpl years ago. What a numb peace of crap. Salesman didn't like me much when I asked if the test car was broken.

Have to agree with peanut, the other brands may be moving forward but they dont understand luxure, they use cheap plastics and try to make them look expensive. I have a late 2013 and no rust on mine. No car is perfect and all have issues but id rather have driving pleasure then driving numbness

Have given up attempting to get my F30s driver seat sorted out.. Remember it's a mass manufactured car, the batch of seats are prone to oxidation due to not being treated properly by the supplier.. BMW is just an assembler..

That said, lessons learnt.. NEVER buy a bottom-range model ever again.. ///M,5,6,7 is the way to go BMW wise..

That "bottom of the range" car is still a R500 000 car... The car is warrantied for 3 years and motorplan for 5 years... I would not accept that crap if I bought a new BMW.

Jip 2013 models seats are sorted and not rusting. Those that have 2012 models just keep the pressure on and use the media. There are people that got there cars sorted. Salt water and a lap will make rust even show better for them
