Welcome man. Best of luck with the build!!

If I remember correctly I don't think the Non-vanos E36's had a Clutch delay valve. Could be wrong though?

Looking forward to the updates!

Gratz on the new ride.

Keep us updated with your modz, pics etc, that's if it aint to much trouble. It might just benefit those wanting to do the same.

Took my wife out for a bit of a Hooning session. And I am so addicted to this car. Best money I have ever spent lol

One of my previous cars that I had was a civic dohc vtec and I missed that car so much until I got this. NO HONDA will ever compare to a cheap and fast beemer !!!

Unfortunately I dont have time yet to start tinkering with the car, but the plan is to keep the cosmetic appearance the same and do performance mods instead

I am gonna try get it to the dyno this week to see what kind of numbers its putting down.

Unfortunately it doesnt have the stock exhaust system because of some hack job as I wanted to do a 63mm single pipe with 2 boxes and compare the difference in performance gains.

After these small little issues have been resolved I want to start with the weight saving

I will already be saving quite a bit with the above exhaust system and I want to do some weight saving.

Found this info which I am still deciding what to remove

Unfortunately this car will not be worth restoring as it needs ALOT of cosmetic work, hence why I am creating a hoon missile

btw here is my exhaust thread

Here is a how on how to repair your sunroof

Step 1. Clean the area
Step 2. Stick it with box tape

I know its a bit of a wreck but for what I want it for its perfect

Took it to the dyno today :)

So the Numbers were
87.9wkw @ 5722rpm
160Nm @ 3801rpm

Not sure what what a Healthy 325i should be pushing but I am pretty happy with the output even with its leaky exhaust lol

This was at the KAR dyno in Kempton which is a bit stingy on numbers

If anyone could let me know what stock e36 325i's are pushing on the wheels that would be great

I really dont get it. I got an idea for you. Go test drive an e36 328i or e46 330i and then ask yourself why spend money on mods when you can rather get an upgrade for the same value and less effort.

If you wanna build a track or drifting car, then by all means go for it. But for a daily and speed there are much better ways to go

Just my 2c. And those e36 325i are slow but reliable. Im not trying to shoot you down just trying to tell you there are better options to go for.

By all means I agree with you but I never said this will be my daily.

Just a funcar, I have another car that I use for a daily

Iceman - while I agree with you to a certain extent it also depends what this car cost.

My e36 328 race car cost me half of what similar other vehicles cost mainly because I was stubborn and didnt listen to a lot of the "expert (from forums) advice" and did everything myself. Yes I couldve started with a better base but in my case, my build was/is still cheaper by a long way than it would have been if i started with that better base like you mention. (By at least half)

Half the fun in a project like this is the actual building of the race/play car and with the replacement value of e36 323/25 and 328 motors you could actually just do a bolt on turbo conversion and run low boost until it blows up, then you just buy another motor (have a mate who ran his road car for 5 years on one motor like that).

Having said that if you are the type that just pays for it to get done then start with a better base because either way you are going to have to cough it up.

To be honest I bought this car as a drift missile

Its cheap fast and nasty!!!

I have made some progress with the build but I havent updated as I feel this build would be better on a drifting forum

If I had to buy a "clean" e36 then I would comments like you ruined a mint example.

Share you stuff I rate it is cool. Amateur drift cars have character because they show use & abuse. It is not a showcar it is drift car, like this orange machine in the pic

Don't worry about the other peoples opinions and bla bla bla bla bla. Do what you want, just don't drift on public roads.
