rough idle

Howzit Guys

Just purchased a 1999 323i E46.....the car is in a beauty condition , only problem I have noticed is that the idle is a bit rough , not major but at the same time not normal. No engine lights on or no lack of power and also the rev is not hunting. Any advice guys . Thanks

howzit and welcome to the forums!

its hard to say offhand, but could be many things from a vacuum leak, to a fuel pump thats possibly on its way out, or even warn plugs or coils.

does it idle rough when cold? does it idle okay when warm? has the engine cut out at all? if you can give us more info.. we can try and assist you :thumbs:

Check the Crankcase Ventilation hoses and unit for cracks or even a broken hose.
