Roof liner sagging in '97 Jetta 3 - help!

Hi all!

The roof liner in my VW Jetta 3 has finally started to give in and is sagging something awful...just as I want to sell the car too! :nonono: I feel like it's plotting against me

Does anyone have any idea what it might cost to have it re-glued to the ceiling? I'm going to post on a VW forum later today - just figured I'd start here! Currently I don't have use of my rear view mirror, which is a serious problem. I'm going to use duct tape to hold it up in the interim.

I DIY'd mine

R60 for the fabric and about R100 for glue and things

I have a removable hardtop though

Thanks man!

Having a removable hardtop certainly helps!

I need to fix this thing so that it's worthy of a sale :thumbdo: it's a damn good car, but the rubbish roof liner is an absolute eyesore.

I don't suggest re-gluing the current liner from the VW.

My Jetta 3 also had a sagging liner, and I was strongly advised not to redo it as it won't last as long as it did from the factory :dunno:

A quote I got was for around R800.00 including all labour and materials, for anthracite lining.

Thanks Chef! I'm going to take the car down to KZN on Saturday - will have to tape up the roof in the interim. Luckily I won't be driving it back :fencelook: BEEMER TIME :joy:
