Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and just want to share my experience with Reynolds in retreat.

I recently took my 36 to them for a quote and when I got there I spoke to the young manager not the owner sharief.

He blatantly refused to give me a quote without giving him insurance details, I then suggested can he do the quote so long and I'll call him and tell him the details afterwards he can then email me the quote.

He refused telling me That he had a meeting and I shouldn't waster his time I must come back when I have the details.

I have A classic 2002 that needs a respray so I asked him as well ball park price for a spray job which he said they charge minimum R30k! I generally asked why so much as I know much better places charge way less he then told me they don't make money off spray jobs its a waste of their time and they make more money fixing dents than spraying a car.

Pathetic service from these guys really.

I know they have BMW contracts so let's not support these guys who is all in it for the money.

I'll post pics soon of my cars.

Well now we've heard the bad lets here some good.

I took my car to pg glass to have the windscreen replaced. Pg glass called me saying there's a bit of rust under the windscreen and they won't warranty the job unless I get it fixed. So i called reynolds and sharief himself came out, who is by the way an extremely nice guy. Just to give me a quote with no guarantee of the work. R450 later the rust was gone and painted over. And pg glass fitted the windscreen with warranty. By the way I had never met sharief before nor had he known I had work done at his shop.

I also enquired about a full respray and it was in the R25k ball park, which is with trim being painted, some other rust fixed. I would imagine the paint would be showroom quality when it comes out.

I have also had my rear bumper resprayed at their small claremont branch. And they matched the paint perfectly.

They also use a very good german paint.

Not sure how you can call for a boycott after speak to one bad manager and not laying a complaint to the owner.

It sounds like you have registered to lay a complaint about a company.

Not nice

I would have thought that your first post would have been about your interest in the brand rather than dissatisfaction about a panel shop.

Well spotted:clapper: makes one wonder about the sincerity of the post or is this just a person just carrying a grudge.

I would suggest you speak to the owner and take your issues up with them directly.

Always three sides to a story.

One shouldn't have to call up the owner of a business just to get good service. If the employees are incompetent that speaks volumes about the owners interest in the business.

While in an ideal world this would be true. But as an owner of a bussiness it is extremely hard to micro manage every aspect of a bussiness and probably not good for the bussiness, especially in a bussiness as large as theirs, it is not a small operation. If he has an incompetent or rude staff member how would he know if you don't lay your complaint to the boss, so he can rectify the issue, which I can guarantee he would.

I agree and since sharief is a personal friend of mine I know he takes pride in his work and he has a very professional attitude towards his business that is why he is so successful this bad apple needs to be should be brought to the attention of sharief

Always took my 320i to Sharief when I was living in Cpt. Never had any problem...He went out of his way to sort out my problems and even diagnosed my car for free...But thats just my experience.
