Guys I need your help please, 2005 e90 320i;
1. I need to replace the valve stem seals and am being told by the mechanic (non dealer) that to do so he must also "reseat" the valves and will therefore have to take the head off. He also says that the head will have to be skimmed.
2.Car is leaking oil onto the manifold. Mechanic says it is probably the vacuum pump or the oil separator.
3. Mechanic says if it's the vacuum pump then he will put in new seals and won't replace the pump.
4. I have been quoted 12k for the job.
Guys please give me your opinions and advice.
