Rennzports Afzil Shatters the N54 Record over 1km

Every now and then we get to glimpse and be a part of something spectacular, we get to see and witness something beautiful being built and slowly taking form. We get to see the stepping stones being placed one after the other, we get to share in the difficulties, the pain and the frustration... but then you witness the strong of heart do what they do best and that is trudging through the deep end and slowly putting one foot before the other to reach their Goal.


 Its only then, that you finally get to realise and be part of the  excitement as you finally piece those building blocks together and truly take in what is being created. This is how we at RennZport' feel about everyone of our Members build, it's a journey we take on from start to finish and love to witness the end results in all its glory.


Afzils ST build, has been one that has been on our lips and in our hearts for a large part of this year.  The most important lesson we have learned from his build is that never throw the towel in. Determination & Hard work have brought His n54 Single Turbo build to where it stands today. Together with his 2 brothers, Ebie & Aslam  they read all the material, applied their minds and began their journey 6 months back. Long hours, tons of homework, insane amounts of patience, and rigorous testing, logging and adjusting have been done to finally get the cab to break it shell and produce what it was meant to do.


We would like to congratulate Afzil on completely shattering the BMW N54 platform's, 1km RECORD, yesterday @ ODI.


He managed to cross the mark at a staggering 275km/h, and in doing so shattered the previous record held.

This was Achieved at just 20 psi....Boost will be upped as a few components will need be upgraded in 2016 in order to maintain consistenty throughout the rev range. Exciting things to come in 2016.

Truly an amazing feat, and a really proud moment for Afzil and his Bros, RennZport and BMWFanatics.

I recall seeing the car jacked up in your driveway and you explaining to me how you building it, to think this was partly done at home and very hands on makes the feat even more amazing !!

I don't think I could have put it any better Firi...thank you for the well crafted words.
This diy project was a year in the making..my very good friend Pieter and I decided to build a manifold and take it from there. one thing lead to the next and thanks to God we accomplished something remarkable. Pieters car will be ready soon with his huge turbo and hopefully we will get it to run just as well.

Chavoos I am pretty sure this could be a world record however as it stands today, this could be the fastest speed on the 1km across all platforms including F series.

on the day itself, we battled with missfires and decided to run the car only on the wastegate spring. The car surprised us as it ran between 239- 244 just on the spring. Team JHB auto tech than helped us to clean the plugs and stopped some coils around.

Car could not handle more than 20 psi as the hpfp was giving up and the meth was just causing issues. We switched it off and raised the boost hoping that we would do something special. car ran flawlessly and we crossed the quarter at 20X or high 19X, did not hear as logan was behind me preparing for his 341 run. eventually it ran the speed.

God willing we hope to go out next time with higher boost and some new hardware and try and crack the 280 mark. Based on our calculations the gearing is good for the 300 mark but that goal is still far from achievable.
