great post BimmerMan!!!!! was going nuts wondering why the set screw at 6 o'clock under volume knob was not there on my 740il like everyone said it should be. i was wondering if you can tell me how to get the whole center console that you show removed off the dash? i was able to get at 3 of the 4 screws. the top right is in the flange that sits behind the long wood trim piece that runs over the glovebox. i pulled on it but it doesn't want to come off easy like the small wood trim piece on the left of the center console.
