According to kwik fit my car has 4 dpfs or cats?
Can anybody confirm this?
They quoted me R1000 to remove them all
My advise would be to use a
reputable exhaust place to do a downpipe for you - it's usually between R2k and R3k. You car should have one DPF in the "header" section of the exhaust.
DO NOT LET THE GUYS "GUT" OUT THE CONTENTS OF A DPF.
This will result in completely unpredictable exhaust flow. At R1000, there's a 99% chance that this is what they are going to do. Imagine drinking through a straw with a hollow golf ball size bubble in it - this is exactly what happens to your exhaust when you remove the cats and leave a hollow chamber.
If you can't afford a proper downpipe yet, leave the car alone until you can. Just my R0.02.
