Remote Issue

Hi Guys,

Strange incident has happened on more than one occasion. My garage remote fails to work and at the same time, my BMW remote refuses to work to lock or unlock the car. Come back a few hours and both seem to work. Any ideas?

Regards

Sounds like some interference in the area? Could even be someone else holding down their remote preventing yours from working, ie. the trick they apparently use in parking lots to stop your remote from working so they can gain access to your car. Try holding your BMW remote as close as possible to your mirror?

definitively interference.. like the previous poster said, could more than likely be someone jamming you with the aim to rob or hijack..

I think it's interference but I doubt it's deliberate, I live within a gated estate......must be somethinh in the area

Probably some naughty kid that needs a klap. He waits for you to come in and presses his remote button. Since all operate on 434MHz, none will operate as the digital "word" from your remote will not be decoded.

Can also be a cell-phone transmitter. Did a job in some flats where there were 2 sets of cellular masts on the roof. Car's remote would only operate if I held it against the windscreen. Everybody in the flats was getting a free dose of radiation.

It's actually 433Mhz :=):

The strongest transmitter always wins.

From the remotes we tried the blue centurion remotes block most car remotes, except for mini and the old sanji alarm systems.

Oddly this occurs in the morning before I leave for work...neither teh garage nor car will open....have to manually override both and also leave my wifes car outside incase she has a problem. In the evening all is well...strange
