This weekend I had Gav Gray drop off his awesome car off for some work doing. Must say this has been a long time coming

Just so you all know there are no after shots for this detail
The weather was a pain in the A$$. Iv never battled like this before. I hope it doesn't happen anytime soon..

The car was detailed using Auto finesse and the usual polishing machines and pads and cloths and prayer and beer on Saturday night.

Before Pics.

Must say Iron Out really works well and shows best on a white car

While I was waiting for the Iron Out to do its thing I cleaned the fabric roof using AF Total 2

Clay

Paint defects

50/50 of the bonnet ( Well kinda )

Bonnet done

Before

After

Now for the biggest mind boggle iv had in years
This must have had me stumped for about 2 hours.. I really couldn't figure out what was going on here. So as i was measuring the pain thickness as I normally this happened

So after a few calls and new batteries i still had the same issues. Eventually i had a car with 0 micron of paint on it. Where I had a reading 10min ago now read as zero...
Eventually after some reading of the manual there I found out there is a master reset .. So after that I had extra paint to work with :) :flyfun:

These are the only afters I have ( Blasted rain )

Nicely done....
Paint depth gauge must have caused you a few questions.
I'm surprised the owner picked the car up in the rain.

Can you tell me what results you got from the AF products you used on the roof...
And if you were happy with them.
How much does it go for?
Would you recommend it for my kit?

After I get my spoiler repainted I'm definitely bringing my 135i to you. You do such great work. Unfortunately the spoiler is still suffering from road rash.

Hi Fraser...with Lambchops permission I hope you dont mind me responding to your question. For soft top cleaning AF Total interior cleaner works very well. Simply spray the the roof to remove loose dirt...spray total onto the roof and using a leather cleaning brush/fabric cleaning brush scrub the roof in one direction moving from the front to the rear...then simply rinse off again.

The thing missing in the AF range for soft tops which is currently under development is the AF waterproofing treatment to be applied after cleaning.

Once again great work Lambchop, the guys in joburg are lucky!

You guys must look at NeverWet it might be great for softtops. Edit: never mind people say it leaves a "frosted" finish. lol
