Recommend a PS3 racing/car game

I want some ideas on some good PS3 racing games.

I really enjoyed GT5 and Dirt 2. Not really a big fan of NFS Shift/2 or any of the NFS stuff. What other alternates should I consider based on my liking for GT5 and Dirt 2. Don't want anything too "technical".

Have you even tried NFS shift 2?

Nothing like the other NFS games. They all crap except for Shift 2. It really does stand out compared to the others and in my opinion is up there with GT5 and Forza.

Most fun racing game is Forza (yes I know this is on Xbox), and yes I have a PS3 with GT5 as well.

I only ever play the GT games. Bought PS1 and GT1 and 2. Clocked them both. Then bought PS2 with Gt3 and Gt4. Clocked them both. Wife is buying PS3 with Gt5 for Christmas. :rollsmile:

Grid racer is very good, a nice balance between a SIM and arcade racer.


Get really crazy in the top tiers.

If you're looking for something completely non-technical, but fun, Burnout: Paradise is cool. It's an arcade type game. Also NFS: The Run and Hot Pursuit is also arcadey

This is the complete opposite of the spectrum mind you

I've got GT5, kind of stuck at the moment as I tend to indulge in buying cars I don't need. I tell myself to save up - which i do, then i end up buying other cars and sparing no costs in tuning. It's an addiction. Great simulator though.

NFS: Shift Unleased 2 is a great game. Doesn't take any characteristics from it's other games and leans more towards a simulator. I won't buy the new Most Wanted though.

That was the new Most Wanted, which goes back to the old NFS days with free roam and lumo paint schemes.

i agree with Mo, the new most wanted is cool, same guys that did burnout made this BUT Forza Horizon is waaaaaay better

Really need to get myself a PS3!! I see there are new ones out with larger HDD sizes, so maybe some specials for the outgoing PS3's...
