Recall on Diesel models made between 2010 and 2017

The article states that your BMW dealer will contact you, will this be applicable in SA, or will it be best to take it to a dealer and ask them about this?

There used to be a person on this sub, who was able to check for outstanding campaigns, not sure if it means the same though.

out of interest, did we have any incident where a BMW from 2010 to 2017 caught fire in SA? I've never heard of such incident, so in my opinion, no need for this recall in SA and don't keep your hopes up about dealers calling you :fencelook:

So yeah also saw this, I then checked the the online thing BMW has and there was a new recall. Phoned them up but they couldn't tell me what it was for.

Anyways dropped off the car this morning, while I was there I get told the recall is only for the blower motor wiring. Was hoping it would be the egr but anyways. Don't think BMW sa is in the loop, maybe just my dealership but yeah. They are quite slow tho. 4 hours to replace 3 wires, about 50cm long. . seems a bit slow to me.

Right, just got back from BMW.

Replaced only my blower motor wiring, and the fsr.

Also got asked why I messed around with the wiring by the blower motor(previously burnt and I decided to fix it)

So yeah. Don't think bmwsa knows about the egr recall as yet as I asked the service advisor and got told not to worry about it.

So time to research how to get rid of the egr.
