RE: E46 320d won't start

Hi Guys
I have bought a 2nd hand engine 320d e46 preface and fitted it on my car due ti it came with out a diesel injector pump I had to use the one for my old engine. I bought new glow plugs and fitted them the diesel is pumping to the injectors my problem the car is not starting and when I switch on the key there is no the engine sign on dash board but the car is cranking please guys help

you need to be a bit clearer on what exactly you have done. so you fitted a pre-facelift engine to a pre-facelift car?

if so and you had to replace the vp44 distribute pump, are you sure that its timing is correct? is the pump fully functional? did you remember to plug in the needle sensor on injector no 4?

with the engine being replaced there is a hundred things that could be wrong..

:ty: I am asking coz I am worried the mechanic told me that the removing of diesel injector pump cause the lose of timing with the needle sensor and the vp pump I am not sure otherwise I need to move to another mechanic

so its same motor in that came out? surely if a mechanic did it for you he should make sure it starts?
