Rattle - Loose Mounting?

So I dropped off my Z4M at the dealership this morning to have a look at a noise I picked up.

Its been there since I got the car, all of 2500kms ago.
Car is currently on 39 000kms (09)

In 1st gear, I accelerate slighty and then push the clutch in, I get this rattle noise coming from the underneath.

I had this once in my G5 GTI and it was the mount bolt that holds the gearbox (Pendulum/Dog Mount).

Have any of you Z4M boys had this issue?

BMW just called and the guy who tested it said that it is not of concern as it's an 'M' car :nonono:

I am not convinced by this comment.

Help?

Apparently normal according to the int forums

Hey bud

When I first got the car I thought the car was falling apart on me, there is a lot of drivetrain noise in the z4, especially compared to my previous car a Polo. :=):

I also took to different BMW dealerships, got in the provincial service managers, had it up and checked mountings and seemed all was fine. Since it has been out of MP I have also had Sav look over the car for me and all is in order.

I have just chalked up all the drivetrain noises to being normal...

Or it could be your rear diff mount causing flex throughout the drivetrain. Get the car onto a 4 poster with the wheels on ramps. With the handbrakes up and chocks in place, check for flex in the drivetrain, 1 person in the car rocking it in 1st and reverse gear while your makkie checks for play underneath. 9 times out of 10 its the rear diff bush thats the culprit. Remember you put massive amounts of torque through the drivetrain, and all that energy is absorbed through a piece of rubber. The propshaft, gearbox and engine while then have more forward and aft movement if the rear diff bush goes. Hope this makes sense
