RANT: G-drive

Sup gents,

Has anybody used them before to order parts?

I was in urgent need of a left shock top mount and righthand tierod.

so i spoke to them and the lady was really prompt with organizing the parts and delivery.

so after payment was made i asked them to confirm and they acknowledged. Parts were said to be delivered yesterday afternoon. I phoned this morning, the lady, Judy, was extremely rude and kept coming up with excuses why my parts were sent out already etc etc. Starting to think that these people are cons? :RedNo::blueCry:

Any advice?

Do a search on the forum for G drive and the issues others have had.... it would have saved you the headache...

They used to be very good but something went horrible wrong and I think they're now taking people's money. They ditched premises and everything.

Ive used them before without hassle. Cant comment on urgent delivery as I have never been in that situation but its a shame if it has come to this as their prices were really competitive.

They vanished for a few weeks, deleted all of their social media because of the flurry of bad reviews, then suddenly popped back on the scene.

No apology or acknowledgement from their side, just started back up like nothing ever happened. I'll definitely never use them again and wouldn't feel anything if they were to go out of business - we don't need more bad service in this country.

Yup,

Same here, the only time I'll buy something from them again is if I am at their shop to buy it over the counter. I have to use them unfortunately because there are some rare E30 bits I need from them.

What sort of bits do they have? I found another site called boss Auto spares thats sells alot of E30 stuff, I haven't used them though , but their prices were better then G-Drive when ever I checked ...

Anyone have any experience with them? Gdrive , i used to find alot of negative comments about them . Never used them .

I haven't had any problems with them. But that was roughly a year ago when I dealt with them last. Dealt directly with Bruce and always seemed to be helpful. As for shipping since I'm in Cape Town - ordered some parts on a Thursday, EFT that night, parts were already sent on the Saturday morning, arrived first thing Monday (wasn't expecting it so soon).

I really hope that they sort out whatever went wrong, they have always been good in my opinion, their prices are good, and they stock a good range of spares!

Keep us posted though.

My major problem is the way they handled whatever issue caused them to go off the grid for however long it was, which in my opinion, is a true reflection of their service.

It's the type of shop where you're usually spending a couple grand because of the product range, so when you get screwed over, it's not for a small amount of money.

The fact that they don't even have the decency to apologies shows what type of people they are.

That's fair. As I said, the last time I dealt with them was probably a year or so ago. So if there was a problem from their side that has affected lots of people, then yes, they need to indeed apologise and rectify each issue to the best of their ability. Business is tough out there, and if you're letting people down to such an extent, your doors will indeed close, so hopefully they sort this out.
