R55 Mini Clubman splutter

Hi all, hoping someone can perhaps assist.

I've had my R55 mini (non S) for about 3 months now. I have noticed that the car is a bit of a pig in cold morning conditions, it tends to be a bit jerky.

I have also noticed an annoying trait but let me paint a picture of exactly what its doing....in the area I stay there are loads of speed bumps, so say I'm approaching the bump in 3rd gear, slow down, gear down to 2nd, over the hump, accelerate, it has this really annoying splutter of a jerk, not too hectic but i can feel it, almost like a miss. If I go over the bump in 3rd at the same speed it doesn't do it

I have recently changed the plugs.

Any advise please?

Cheers
Alex

Yup, diagnostics should show something. Could be coil packs fuel pump etc.

Does it rev out smoothly to the red line?

Hi Carbon,

Sorry for the late reply. Yes the car revs smoothly to the red line.

I've done a bit of research and a lot of my issues seem to point towards the car needing a carbon clean.

Has anyone here done this on their Mini? If so what was the outcome?

Regards
Alex

Non-S models do not have direct injection, and as such does not build up carbon on the intake.

So your problem lies elsewhere
