XBox One will also come out soon.

Would you be interested to buy a second hand console with a few games and two controllers?

I may want to sell mine.

thank you, try telling a 7 year old to wait until december :=):
also from what i read, quantities might be limited in SA and with the rand/dollar prices will be around the R7k mark

If I am not mistaken you must have internet connectivity to use the new consoles.

The PS3 does a device similair to the Xbox, I think its call the eye.

It really boils down to your choice, both are decent for gaming.

i must be honest,i own an xbox360 and a PS3.I just cannot justify the cost of the consoles and the games anymore.I would rather fork out the money for a PC and over the years upgrade your PC (the games will always be compatible with windows regardless of the hardware) whereas consoles it is a different story when a new console comes out.

Also with xbox, they still expect you to pay noggal to be able to play online,i could be mistaken but i think the new PS4 will run a similar paid service as xbox live?

just my 2c

It will boil down to preference at the end of the day...

Both has their good and bad sides of things.
the xbox controller for me just feels better, offset joystick positioning feels more comfy and not as flimsy as the ps controller.. imho that is.

Both have decent games....

Yes you have a online pass for a year which is not really that expensive if you wanna play online but if it's for the kids you don't really need it as yet.

The Kinect.... I love it.. had a lot of fun with that and at the same time the ps move wasn't close to the same fun for me..

So I would say go play with both a bit and see which of the two you like..

:thumbs::thumbs:

As far as pc goes... use to do it... crap thing is you have to keep upgrading hardware which is also NOT cheap and having to play the latest titles you will upgrade hardware...

Console to me is ok... they don't bring out new consoles every 6-12 months etc. so the need to upgrade all the time is not there. consoles last for a good few years... you get to play on bigger screens and and and...

So I reckon console and xbox as the console of choice.

i agree with tyronzn. pc all the way. i have a 9 year old son, and he is hooked on the pc. got him a xbox controller and we use it on the pc. i find the xbox very slow in comparison to a PC and xbox graphics not even close to that of the pc. games for pc also cheaper.

i bought an xbox expecting great things and was left frustrated and disappointed. getting back to the pc brought my smile back :thumb:

Can't really compare the two IMO...
Compare pc to when the xbox 360 was released and it was way closer.. There's nothing to upgrade in a xbox or ps3 to keep up with pc's

You upgrade graphics cards, ram and whatever you like and yes it will be better graphics wise than what a console will be but compare them at release time and where was pc then ? way closer to consoles than what it is now. :=):
