Hi Guys,

I have just signed up to the forum seeking advice to hopefully join the BMW family.

I am very close to purchasing a baby that I have fallen in love with but need some advice since I am not very experienced with BMW's. I currently drive a Seat Cupra.

I am looking at buying a 125i Coupe 2010 Model with 68 000 on the clock and it has the M-Sport package from Auto Atlantic. The car is perfect in every way and just enough power for what im looking for.

I am unfortunately very scared to buy a car that has a Motor plan expiring in May 2016. I cant afford to deal with 10k-15k or more if something goes wrong. I have a friend who suffered major financial damage repairing a out of motor pan BMW. I would like to know from the fellow forum members if this is a good deal and anything I should do in terms of research before I go ahead.

Thank you in advance.

My apologies, it's selling for R199 900

I'm unable to give any advice regarding the motoplan, but if you do decide to go for it, rather take someone that is familiar with BMW's with you, just as a precaution. I'm sure that once you get her, that she will give you many years of motoring pleasure.

At that mileage the car is unlikely to need anything major apart from servicing and consumables like brakes. So maybe get quotes for those things to give you an idea of what you running costs will be for the next 40 000km or so.

Maybe phone up a specialist like Brilliant Mechanical workshop, or garage 808 and ask for their experience.

Equally I would also say that whilst the car might not need much beyond normal servicing for the next while, it is still an expensive car and things can go wrong. If you can't afford to take a 10-15k hit for bad case scenarios, then maybe you should reconsider if you're ready to own this car.

I was also looking at getting a 125i but then I bought my 135i... and I was also worried about heavy maintenance but take out an external warranty... I've done research and motorvaps seems to be good.. also I know a few guys who use them and says they good and they pay out when you need them to.

200k for that a 2010 and that mileage is good... when I was looking a couple of months ago they were going for around 250k for a good one with that mileage
