Can anyone recommend a reputable Propshaft repair workshop in Johannesburg North Area. I think I need to get my centre bearing and Flexdisk replaced. Any ideas what a reasonable price would be. Called a place called Propshaft world in midrand. The guy said he had never heard of a flex disc/guibo before. I would think that most bmw's and mercs use this part in their drivetrain. He did say that he heard of the centre bearing though :rollsmile: Maybe its known by another name.

Do not take your car to a shop that does not know what a flex disk or Guibo is... DO NOT.
Are you having vibrations whilst accelerating the car? This is a common symptom for failed flex disc/Guibo and or Failed Centre Bearing.
Unfortunately I do not know of a shop that is capable of fixing this issue. I'd be careful about who to choose though, as I have done research on fixing this issue and have heard some sad horror stories of guys having taken one step forward and two steps back when fixing this problem. The car returns back with more issues than it went in with, as most BMW props are two parts and when split, need to be correctly installed again and balanced. When the balancing is off, the car is literally unbearable to drive.
Keep that in mind. You may want to take it to a place that has done this on many BMW's before. You don't want to be the first.
