I have an old Mini lying in my yard if you're interested! Motor lying on the front seat, parts in the boot! Was hoping to do something with it but no time, no money!

That car has the twin turbo m54 in it, the craziest 2002 build I have ever seen! He also moved the firewall and engine back 15cm and moved the gbox to the rear axle for perfect 50/50 weight distribution. :praise:

it has an awesome old school look to it and its way less common than something like an e34 or e30...

Sooooo...

I really want a project car..

I was thinking of an old mini, turning it into a bakkie and either turbo'ing it or putting an R1 engine in.

What else do you guys recommend?

Looking for something smallish.. but something cool..

Definitely going to put a turbo in..

If I didn't have a project car already, I would go for something like a Locost Lotus 7. Lot of info and parts available, even a local racing series. But I would put in a nice 6 cyl BMW engine and box, M3 NA or turbo-ed. It would be wicked. 0-100 times of under 3 sec, you would make toast of most Ferarris, Lambos, and you would ignore Porches.

Cybermatrix has a great idea. Locost 7 or a 7 rep is what I've dreamed of for a loong while. Ultimate power to weight. But no no as a daily.

First thing I can think of if you want cheap parts and availability is a mk1 golf. Everything about it is cheap as chips and very simple to work on. If you can live with the fact that it'll probably be broken into and there's millions of them.

Chuck in an ABF 2L 16v and turbo it. Hell, those things without turbo's take out civic's with turbo's! Saw it on samrand the other night...
